Windows Phone 7-user requirements own app store

The new users of Windows Phone 7 eager to own a Market Place, the app store for the WP7 devices. Dissatisfied customers can sign an online petition.

The Market Place for WP7 devices is still in seventeen countries. Netherlands, for example, there is no app store available. People who like to download apps need an English or American first Windows Live account, which you also an English (existing) address to give up. That detour was previously a student of TU Delft made public.
Apps until next year in the Netherlands

A Dutch Market Place comes only in the course of next year. Buyers are therefore of a device with Windows 7 Phone in the Netherlands with a device that limited scope. Netherlands is not alone. Users of these smartphones to now unite in a call to Microsoft to push a broader availability of the Market Place.

The authors of the open letter noted that until now Microsoft has given no valid reason for the limited availability of the app store. They understand that it is possible legally complicated and music videos widely available, but see this as no reason to delay the availability of apps.
Substantial revenue loss

“That affects not only customers but also developers of those apps that a substantial revenue losses”, states the petition. The authors ask Microsoft to open an international market place, or else at least localized app stores in countries where WP7 smartphones for sale.

“If there are obvious reasons why it can not, we ask kindly to puibliek about the reasons. Also we like to see a roadmap for the global availability of the Market Place. A phone without access to third party applications can hardly be called a smartphone, so the authors end their petition to Microsoft.
