Sharp unveils new e-readers Galapagos

Sharp today unveiled two new e-readers. Both tablet-like devices will appear under the name Galapagos, the Mobile version a 5.5-inch screen and the Home edition a 10.8-inch display.
The LCD screen of the Galapagos Mobile has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, and the Home of 1366 x 800 pixels. Both e-readers have an 802.11b / g WiFi support and the smaller of the two will also be a trackball for navigation on the small screen.
Sharp focuses these efforts will focus on a wide support by third-party content. This tells the manufacturer to report that there are already 30,000 newspapers, magazines and books ready for the release of these e-readers in December. It will make use of an automated delivery system so you always have the latest content available.
Sharp has announced that the Galapagos e-readers yet only planned for release in Japan, and that no evidence can be given about a possible international release.
