RIM Announces 7-inch BlackBerry playbook

Research In Motion (RIM) last night announced the BlackBerry playbook. A small 7-inch tablet which tablet to the new BlackBerry OS is running and must enter the competition with Apple’s iPad.
RIM’s CEO Mike Lazaridis made the BlackBerry tablet revealed at the annual Developer Conference. The BlackBerry playbook thus has a relatively small 7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Furthermore, there is 1GB of RAM in the PC and flat is likely to opt for models with 16GB and 32GB memory.
All this is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, something that the RIM playbook, according to the fastest tablet on the market. The tablet gets further two cameras at the front with a 3 megapixel sensor and at the back snapshots with 5 megapixels. The playbook can also record and play 1080p content.
Tablet BlackBerry OS
Besides a mini HDMI port is also a mini USB port on the playbook, Bluetooth 2.1 and supports WiFi. The tablet is spinning at the new BlackBerry Tablet OS (developed by QNX), according to RIM will offer support include multitasking, OpenGL, Adobe Flash and HTML5.
When the small tablet will appear exactly the BlackBerry is not yet clear, but RIM has announced that beginning in 2011 the United States will appear. In Europe we have to wait a little longer, here comes the playbook in the second quarter of that year to the shelves.
