A study by the U.S. research firm Nielsen shows that the U.S. consumer is not exactly hot to buy a 3D TV. Wearing the special 3D glasses seems to include the greatest impediment.
During the investigation, Nielsen 425 people for half an hour to watch 3D TV show and then asked about their experience. Half the people did not exactly know the glasses are comfortable and as much as 89 percent even thought the glasses annoying. This is because it was difficult to watch TV while talking to others or other things.
“Many people today are accustomed to multitasking. It irritated them this is not possible anymore, “says Nielsen’s findings. After one half hour to 3D content gave only 12 percent had looked for a 3D television to buy. This was before the investigation, another 25 percent.
Different glasses
Besides the irritation of the 3D glasses, many people saw the high price of these TVs as an obstacle. The fact that each manufacturer uses a different technique, so the glasses do not work on several TV programs, is seen as a big disadvantage. Apparently there is still much work to do for parties such as Sony and Samsung to ensure than their large-scale 3D TVs are being marketed to be.
