Microsoft Office Visio 2010 Diagrams and flowcharts

by admin ·

At the launch of Office 2010 are all traditionally spotlight on old faithful Word , Excel , Outlook and PowerPoint . But professionals who often charts, diagrams and blueprints to make , can also look forward to a highly customized version of Visio .

When Office 2007 came out, walked like Visio, Project not count on the new ‘ Lint’ interface . That shortcoming is finally addressed. A good thing, because the Office Fluent UI looks not only fresher , but also works really easily . The flipside of the coin is that the transition from Visio 2007 to 2010 edition for existing users implies a certain learning curve .

Same basic concept
The basic concept of Visio is of course unchanged. You will start with a blank (and now dynamically growing) leaf or supplied templates. Similarly , you can fill a chart with existing elements (from simple to complex geometric shapes ‘ stencils ‘ ) or even shapes . A major advance is that Visio 2010 on a visual , and therefore better way to access templates and stencils .

A chart design is much easier with the new Auto Align & Space function at its best when they are released in a finished blueprint . It was nice to have been during the dragging and drawing shapes to get some more indications about the distance and size relative to other objects . Mac OmniGraffle competitor shows how this can be improved.

A major advantage of the new interface is the preview function, which in Word and Excel 2007 already available. Previously you had a layout element ( eg an arrowhead with a connector) select to know how something would look like . In Visio 2010 you just hover over an option , and immediately a preview appears.

Only when you click, the adjustment made . Such a preview is also useful if you put a layout on a release container . The latter is something new : it is essentially a way of grouping objects into a larger whole . Visually useful , but helpful in a time adjustments to be made to all objects within a container .

Time saving
Also new in the interface is a place where you can deposit commonly used forms , so they quickly retrievable . In our opinion makes the transition to the new interface with these features quite some time savings.

Like the other Office 2010 components , there is a strong link between Visio and Sharepoint . For example, diagrams for publishing Sharepoint and Silverlight , retaining any interactivity .

Do you need the Sharepoint features , then you must choose Visio 2010 Professional, or – for full – Sharepoint integration – the Premium edition. For these two versions are not recommended or available .
