Apple: ‘Increase child from suppliers’
Apple notes that there is increasing child labor in its suppliers. It reports the company’s annual Supplier Responsibility Progress Report which was published this week.
In response to previous instances of child labor in Chinese hardware suppliers, the large number of suicides among the major purveyor Foxconn and criticism from the media, Apple says that they monitor the companies have tightened considerably.
Despite this stringent monitoring, Apple is still a significant increase in the incidence of child labor in these suppliers. Last year there were 11 cases brought to light, this year’s in the report that 91 children at ten different companies were at work.
Safety
