2000 years old computer rebuilt,
with Lego
The first computer was built by the ancient Greeks. This mechanism is now back to its former glory.
Who thought that computers belonging to the last decades were wrong. The ancient Greeks already had a mechanical ‘computer’ designed that the position of the sun and moon could predict. This mechanism has now been reconstructed by an Apple engineer, just Technic.
The Antikythera mechanism consists of a radar. The components of this radar to keep separate mathematical calculations. Through other cogs are the results of calculations together and eventually transferred to a dial. These devices record indicate that the position of the stars again. The Antikythera Mechanism shows that the Greeks have an accurate model of the zodiac, from which they are technically very gifted.
Lego
The Lego builder, Andrew Carol, now has the Antikythera Mechanism simulated Technic. In total he had 30 days and 1.500 parts needed. Down faster than the ancient Greeks. In an illustrative video shows how the mechanism works. The mechanism contains more cogs than the original. Carol had some extra efforts as he waltzes with the standard Lego wheels to the proper ratios to come. The original builder did 200 years ago are just cogs in thethe correct ratios directly
